  • Jaskinia Cabanowa (Cabanowa Cave)
Details:

Jaskinia w Zielonej Gorze (Cave in Green Mountain)

A pretty big cave with a forest of calcite columns; a lot of formations on the walls, too. There's no need for a suit when visiting most of the cave, but may come in handy for crawling into the several tighter passages (e.g. one leaving the main chamber in the North-Eastern part, going down). The second chamber, a bit lower than the first, is less interesting, except for the formations in the South-Western part.

The column forest is really nice, especially those formations that cross the main chamber and in the second chamber, in the middle.

Unfortunately, the red marked path is very near and the cave can be visited easily, so that all formations except for the bigger ones, are broken and taken away...

Jaskinia Towarna i Dzwonnica (Towarna and Belfry Cave)

The entrance to Towarna Cave is pretty big; and the cave is easy to visit. Passages formed nicely by water, especially on a ledge in the middle of the cave. A small passage at the end, going for about two meters down is a bit tighter, but worth a visit.

Going to the so called Jaskinia Niedzwiedzia (Bear Cave) you have to bend down a bit a couple of times. The cave is spacey with many nice formations (especially in the short chimney in the middle of the chamber).

The passage to the Belfry Cave is very low - you have to crawl several meters, but there are no squeezes (but take the left-hand, longer passage). Up till now, a suite was not needed, but recommended here.

The Belfry Cave is made up of a passage some 50 meters long with two small chambers; nicely washed with formations of moonmilk. At the end pretty straight and getting tighter with each meter.

The North-Western exit is a squeeze, but when you bend in the correct way, you shouldn't have any problems.

Jaskinia Cabanowa (Cabanowa Cave)

The entrance is a bit difficult due to the rock lying in the middle and some tight passage behind it. However, it's harder to get in than to get out, and not that hard when going in on the belly, legs first.

Next, follow the meandering passage (quite nice), the top of which stays about level, but the bottom keeps going down. It ends with an interesting entrance to the main chamber - the passage is several meters high and circumvents a rock column.

You can find a lot of nice formations in that chamber (stalactites, stalagmites, columns, rosebuds). Even though the entrance is not that difficult, this cave is the best preserved one of the ones described here.

A small rift leads to the end of the cave. Supposedly, it's very near to the Belfry Cave - say something louder and the sound of a bell will be evident.
