| 2004-04-10 Bunkers in Janowek |
 |
People: M&M Trybulec, Aro
Place: large bunkers near Janowek
Details:
On the verge of the new season and anticipating several fun trips,
we decided that we need some practice. So we went to Janowek, to the big bunkers there,
to play some with ropes. The weather was very nice (for the beginning of April),
which got us doing a 50 meter ascent twice, and after that a tyrolian traverse and a normal traverse.
And it turned out that the are some nice formations
on the bunkers: stalagmites, stalactites and very nice, although not very big, rice fields -
it's a wonder they were in such good state and not destroyed.
Actually, I don't think I saw nicer looking rice fields than here
(maybe except for Chocholowska Rift, but there they were bigger, not necessarily prettier).
[MJT] Big bunkers in Janowek - practice trip

[MJT] Sluggish beginning

[MUT] And lazy...

[MJT] The plan was to start by a timed ascent of a 50 meter rope segment.
But somehow nobody felt like rushing things...

[MJT] A small warm-up

[MJT] Finally, Aro decided to try

[MUT] So I had to, too...

[MJT] And so did Martha

[MJT] Afterward - at least once I was the quickest one!
Then we did it again.

[MUT] Next, a tyrolian traverse - here Aro was helping me get on that damned thing

[MJT] She... instead of going up, she's sunbathing!

[MJT] The Sun hid behind some clouds, so she could continue

[MJT] Nobody smiled on the course!

[MJT] A small rest on the way

[MJT] After the timed ascent and the tyrolian traverse we tried a small normal traverse

[MJT] At the start of the traverse

[MJT] And Martha already finished - without any problems

[MUT] The guys are still fighting

[MJT] There are some formations on the bunkers, too!
Here, a drop falling on a true stalagmite

[MJT] Stalactites and stalagmites

[MJT] And rice fields - and not the best ones, either
