People: M&M Trybulec
Place: West Tatra Mts.
For the opening of 2005 we decided to visit some of the caves from the winter course.
We also wanted to spend some time in true winter (not having one in Warsaw).
Water conditions in the caves were favorable and generally speaking,
the trips were fun. But as for the winter... I have no words.
On the second day on the road from Witow to Zakopane, the temperature rose to plus 11 degrees... at the beginning of January!
Trips:
Details:
The Sinkhole was dry, so we had no problems of getting to Blotny Prog (Mud Ledge).
Here a rope was already rigged, so in a few moments we were at the Prog z Wanta (Pitch with a Boulder).
We had the following plan: if we will have problems with climbing this pitch, we will go to Zwolinskis' Sump,
otherwise we will go on to the Hut. Martha attacked the pitch - she quickly and without any hitches got to the top.
Since it was going so well, she got ready for the Black Chimney.
Although this took her a bit longer (and she fell several time),
after a brave struggle she won it in three rounds.
Unfortunately, at the Barrel, it turned out that we had run out of time...

We planned on exploring the Sponge parts, next through the Gold Duck's Nest (if dry)
and then to the Lake with Matches. Near the entrance it turned out that my suit
is happily hanging and drying at the base. Tough, I had to go in in my normal clothes.
I really like the passages in Lower Kasprowa, especially those in Sponge Parts.
We spent some time there getting to know all the larger and smaller passages; and took some pictures.
After a small meal near the Stalagmite we went in the direction of the Nest.
Climbing the Great Pitch/Chimney was a breeze; next it turned out that the Nest is dry and dug out.
Next a not very nice, slippery ascent and after that - the Great Passage.
Unfortunately, a long and deep lake blocked the access to Knights' Chamber.
I went there alone (I have higher boots), but had to get wet nevertheless - water up to my thighs.
I remembered the Knights' Chamber as much larger... Next I went to the Hanging Lake,
but didn't want to go further only by myself; so that's where the trip to Lower Kasprowa ended.
