Trips: Details:

Jaskinia Kamiennego Gradu (Rock Hail Cave)

The cave is very easy to find, just follow the warning signs setup by JOPR. :)

The entrance squeeze turned out to be filled with rocks and debris, but after about an hour, we cleared it out (Martha had the worst of it - taking rocks out of the tight passage). Next, Martha went in. Then it was my turn, but I couldn't push my ass through it... Ok, I dug some more rocks out of the entrance, my butt got through, but my chest didn't (that gym...). Next Aro tried. He didn't get through either, but did a bit more digging and finally slipped in. I, after a couple of tries, decided to wait for them outside...

So, only Martha and Aro visited this cave. As it turned out, I didn't loose much. They were generally displeased by the cave's "quality". Aro thinks that the cave's name is too good for such a meager hole.

Anyway, since I didn't go in this time, I'll have to come back there sometime in the future (and loose some weight in the meantime)! Martha recommends this cave for the interesting, in her opinion, entrance. :)

Pietrowa Szczelina (Storied Rift)

Right after the Rock Hail Cave we went to the nearby Storied Rift.

I quite liked this cave, although there aren't that many formations in it, but the system of passages is very interesting. First, a descent, then a walk in a rift. Then another descent in the President's Pitch, where we explored a bit at the bottom. But since evening was drawing near and other attractions were waiting on us at the base (beer), we didn't get much further. When ascending, it's probably better to keep to the eastern wall (very easy chimneying) and next traverse to the exit. Chimneying was pretty easy, but knee protectors are recommended!

Jaskinia Na Swiniuszce (Cave on Swiniuszka)

The cave looks like it was forgotten. There are no bolts, the rocks aren't slippery at all... Access and search for the entrance was easy, rigging was a bit harder. Since there aren't any bolts, we needed to rig our rope from natural points. This is pretty easy for the deeper pitch, but for the other pitch we didn't have enough loops... We'll have to repeat this trip sometime.

I really liked the cave itself, reminded me a bit of Cold Cave in the Tatras. Actually, I think that the temperature in this cave is a bit lower than in other caves on the Jura. And you can have some chimneying practice, practically in all parts of the cave.
