2006-03-25 Jura in March
People: M&M Trybulec
Place: Jura, near Strzegow

A one day trip to the vicinity of Strzegow. And two weeks earlier we visited a small cave in the Naramka Valley.

Trips:
  • Naramka Valley
  • Jaskinia Jasna w Strzegowej (Bright Cave in Strzegowa)
  • Jaskinia na Bisniku (Cave on the Bisnik)
  • Jaskinia Zegar (Clock Cave)
Details:

Naramka Valley

All in all, a single chamber only, although pretty big (as far as Jura goes). The entrance is easily visible from the road. Inside, to our surprise, there wasn't a lot of garbage. Plus pretty nice ice stalagmites near the entrance.

Jaskinia Jasna w Strzegowej (Bright Cave in Strzegowa)

Cave - that's saying much - most of it is well lit through wide and high chimneys. Only one small chimney requires light...

And it's pretty hard to say anything else about this cave - because it's so open, there are no formations nor any other interesting phenomena. One of the entrances can be viewed from the top of the rock - from that side it even looks like quite a nice pitch...

Lisie Jamy (Fox Holes) can be found nearby - and you can really smell an animal there. And they're also a bit more cave-like.

Jaskinia na Bisniku (Cave on the Bisnik)

An archeological site, blocked by a crate.

The two main chambers are connected by a small window. The western chamber is mostly a big boulder choke; however, you can see evidence of archeological surveying in the eastern chamber. From the second chamber, into the rock, leads a small passage - a passave very similar to the one in the Cave in Straszykowa Mountain.

Jaskinia Zegar (Clock Cave)

A really nice cave, although I must say that we didn't crawl into its tighter passages. Several interesting formations - see photos. All in all, I expected a lot less, considering the easy access and proximity of the walking path.
