People: M&M Trybulec
Place: Dolina Bedkowska (Bedkowska Valley), Park Krajobrazowy Dolinki Krakowskie (Cracow Valleys Scenic Park), Poland

Trips:
  • Jaskinia Dziewicza (Virgin Cave)
  • Jaskinia Malotowa (Malotow's Cave)
  • Jaskinia nad Zrodlem I (Cave above the Spring I)
Details:

Jaskinia Dziewicza (Virgin Cave)

Nice entrance, a bit of formations and a small pitch - otherwise nothing interesting... Definitely not worth a special trip.

You can climb out of the pitch, but I prefer a rope to go down. At the end of the pitch you can squeeze a bit to the part of the passage with cave corals.

Jaskinia Malotowa (Malotow's Cave)

This cave is much more interesting thanks to two small pitches, a small chamber with a tight corridor and nice, two-color rosebuds, and a clay corridor at the bottom.

The first pitch can be easily climbed, and probably the second one too. Unfortunately it's quite wide at the bottom (so I slipped crushing my [beep], so I didn't feel like trying again). The corridor at the bottom is very sticky, ends with a small chamber and tight crawls.

Jaskinia nad Zrodlem I (Cave above the Spring I)

During the previous trip to this cave I went down the first pitch only. And Martha never visited this cave, so she was a bit apprehensive knowing that skinny Aro got stuck in the entrance. :)

However, this time the entrance went quite smoothly - a nice rift. First, we attacked the right hand passages in the direction of New Parts. I barely managed to get through the first squeeze (and I had to take off my harness). Next, it got a bit wider, but I wouldn't call it a "chamber"! Next, a squeeze just after the left turn - a this one stopped us. Not that it was so tight, we just weren't in the mood...

Ok, so the other way. A not very tight crawl leads to the passage and the chamber of Old Parts. To the left, quite a nice meander, and to the right, a pretty tight and winding tube (that can be followed back from the chamber to the passage). And that's about it... except for the exit. The rift itself can be easily climbed without a rope, but the squeeze at the very top... I forgot that it was so... tight (and going up). I spent some time fighting it. :)
