Details:

Travertine rock

We spent most of the first day on searching for caves on the Stolowa Gora (Table Mountain) near Olkusz. These caves were depicted on an old map from Compass, without any names yet. Later on, when we found a newer map, it turned out that two of these caves were: Pod Porzeczka (Under a Currant) and Blotna (Mud Cave). I think that we even found the first one, but not the other two... Anyway, the weather was perfect and the walk in itself was quite pleasant.

Next we went to see the old quarry in Jaroszowiec, but it's grown over with trees and shrubs, so actually there isn't much to see.

On the next day we went to the village Laski to see a travertine rock. Actually, we were more interested in the cave that was supposed to be in that rock... Well, we expected something... a bit larger. Flat ground everywhere, tall grasses, trees, no rocks to be seen anywhere. So we spent some time on searching for it...

The rock and the cave are there, although not very big. Just right for a small party. :-)

Jaskinia w Kielnikach (Cave in Kielniki)

On the next day of this long weekend we went to Olsztyn near Czestochowa, to see the two caves in the region of the quarry in Kielniki.

First, we went into the quarry itself to find the Cave in Kielniki. Even though the entrance in not visible from the ground, an evident path leads to it. Thus, we didn't have any problems in finding it. And it's pretty hard to say anything interesting about the cave - a rift passage + some chambers separated by boulders; almost no formations. The only nice thing were the marble round rocks "frozen" in the surrounding rocks...

Jaskinia Magazyn (Store Cave)

The second cave - Store Cave - is pretty close to the quarry. Much smaller, with a single side chamber. A stairway leads to the main entrance; a small hole in the ground makes up the second entrance. Only a couple, dried out formations. And... that's about it.
