Market Research in Poland - 2009 |
|
As usual, OFBOR
published data on last year's (2009) turnovers of market research companies
in Poland.
I also collected data from the previous years: OFBOR's and some more from the web,
and summed everything up in tables and charts below.
This is the third time I prepared this summary - you can find the previous ones here:
All data discussed below can also be found here: mr2009.zip (85 kB).
And what does this data show us?
SMG/KRC
is first (as it has been since 1997), and even when the whole business noted a decrease in turnover,
the company's turnover is up (though only just a bit).
ACNielsen extended its lead over its arch-rival -
GfK.
The difference between these two companies is now the largest since 1996...
Even though Pentor noted a smaller turnover compared to 2008,
they managed to keep their 4th position ahead of TNS OBOP and
IPSOS.
IPSOS lost one position (to TNS OBOP) due to its 2nd in a row year with a decrease in turnover...
As to further companies in the top 10:
- PBS,
after another year of growth, passed IQS.
- IQS
fifth year in a row had a growth rate of 0% or less.
- AGB
grew by 6% and remained as the 9th biggest market research company.
- MEMRB increased by 7%, and Synovate dropped by 13% -
as a result, these two companies exchanged their 10th and 11th places.
4P research mix kept its 12th place,
but with a growth of 1% doesn't stand a chance of coming close to the top 10 anytime soon.
ARC at 13 with a 14% growth looks quite good, but they still got a ways to go to reach 11th
(though they are getting closer to 4P research mix in 12th...).
Other companies have turnovers of (much) less than 10e6 zloty.
And it doesn't look like they could endanger any of the bigger companies anytime soon.
