We wanted to go scuba diving to Norway last year, but that didn't work out.
This year we told ourselves that we had to do it... and we did!
And, having a car that does almost 80 mpg, we decided to drive there (from the UK).

Two weeks of diving, fantastic surroundings, parties through the whole night,
fishing at the sea, large cods throwing themselves onto our fishing hooks, a rediscovered wreck...
Can't get much better!

Our second serious diving trip, after Maldives - to Palau and Yap!

Palau is an archipelago some 800 km East of the Philippines.
Yap (Wa'ab) is about 500 km further East-North-East (about 1/3 of the way from Palau to Guam).

Unfortunately, it's really far away from Poland.
To get there, first you need to fly to some larger European city (we went through London),
then to a hub in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar, for instance), then to Manila in the Philippines.
Then to Palau. And then another flight to Yap.
So, all in all, a lot of the time is spent on the journeys there, between the islands, and back
(and that's assuming that there are no serious problems with flights, but that's another story)...

The dives were just great, especially those with sharks. :-)
We also saw manta rays, turtles, and all kinds of fish; we also saw dolphins (when coming back from a dive).
We had some interesting dives between rocks and in caves.
But I must say that the coral reef was much prettier and interesting on the Maldives
(especially on Yap these can be greatly destroyed).
But the visibility was phenomenal - in some places,
especially on Yap, it could be greater than 30-40 meters!
And the currents - there were places where we were hooked to the reef
and the current was strong enough to tear our masks off of our faces!

Anyway, a super interesting trip with very good dives. :-)

A fantastic dessert, not really hard to prepare (at least it seems so).

Below you'll find the recipe - I already tried it three times - it works!
Most of these sharks aren't that big, and they're usually shy and timid.

One of the most interesting, though very secretive, fish.
Their body is nearly all muscle and they are extremely strong.
During the day, they usually hide in holes and crevices, and go out hunting during the night.
Large individuals are up to several meters long.

Despite the scary appearance (open mouth), they are usually quite timid.
They lack an operculum (gill cover), thus they need to open and close their mouths
for respiration (to force water through the gills).
They open their mouth more of the need to filter water through the gills.
Very often, in their mouths or near the fish, cleaner wrasses may be seen.

Often hand-fed by divers;
however, may be responsible for accidental injuries to humans (that can even lead to hospitalization).
Moray eels have a very well-developed sense of smell, less that of sight.
So, if they had been fed with fish, the smell remains in the water and on divers' hands.
The moray cannot tell the difference then and may attack.

A light, crab summer salad.
Recently I prepared it more as a sauce, by adding more yogurt.
Then it can be used as a sauce for cold meats.

Our biggest journey to date - almost 8200 km. done over 4 weeks around New Zealand.

The trip page was divided into 4 parts due to the number of photos taken:

Our first stage took us through the Western parts of the
North Island, Southwards,
from Auckland to Wellington.

After a ferry to the South Island, we changed sides to the Eastern Shore,
going from Picton to the Southern end of the island, to Waikawa.

That's when we had to start thinking about getting back; we changed the direction first to a Western one, then Northwards.
Having Fiordland on our left hand side, we drove mainly on the island's Western shore
from Invercargill, through Milford Sound and Queenstown, to Motueka.

The final stage went along
the Eastern coast of the North Island, to its Northern tip.
There we turned back for the final leg to our starting point - Auckland.

Very tasty honey-cakes - the original recipe is from Ipsos Poland.
One year, before Christmas, the company sent this recipe to their clients along with Holiday Cards. Thanks!
You should make these cookies a bit earlier, about 2 weeks before serving, and keep them in a box
to let them mature.

A delicious, quite light and effective cake.
You need to learn how to make a roll, but it's not that hard. :)

My favorite vodka.
The longer it steeps, the better it tastes, gets more... "noble". It's really worth waiting.
I had a chance to drink a 2-year one. Quite thick, deep amber color,
a bit sweet, but a bit sour at the same time. Beautiful!
There are two types of the fruit: from a shrub and from a tree.
The shrub version is a bit smaller, but a bit more aromatic.
The fruit from the tree is bigger, in shape somewhat similar to pears.

A nice looking starter, delicious at the same time.
All kinds of variations are allowed. For instance, instead of ham
you can add mushrooms or pepper, green parsley, herbs - anything.

Alcohol for women, very tasty. But not to weak.
Tastes a bit like Baileys, but is a lot cheaper. :)
Quick in preparation and instantly ready for consumption!
We got this recipe from Kate, our high school friend, at the time of the wild 18th parties.

The recipe for this vodka is handed down in my family from generation to generation
(but, what's interesting, is that each time it tastes a bit differently).
It has a rich taste, a beautiful color, but at the same time is quite strong. :)
Not only for women.
